Brief Summary of Responsibilities

Develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate comprehensive patient rehabilitation programs to ensure that employees suffering from on-the-job injuries receive appropriate overall medical treatment, therapy and training services which enable their recovery and return to previous employment or alternative career paths through the proper assessment of disabilities or physical restrictions.

Study employee's health condition, locate appropriate treatment resources, ensure continuity of care and document treatment progression; provide individual counseling sessions to employees concerning rehabilitation treatment and health maintenance.

Interact with health care providers to collect diagnostic information and to monitor treatment programs and assess the overall health and training needs of the employee; review patient data related to disabilities or medical limitations and maintain liaison with departmental personnel in order to analyze job requirements to assess whether the employee is capable of performing job duties; recommend reasonable accommodations where appropriate; assist in the exploration of alternative career paths when the employee is unable to return to original job duties.

Prepare various reports and analyses, setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.


Qualifications


Licensed RN in NC and CDMS or CCM in addition to one year of related experience.  Individual must demonstrate ability to build strong, credible professional relationships with patients,  physicians, and colleagues.
